Milan – Cagliari Preview

AC Milan hosts Cagliari at the San Siro in a game from the 1/8-finals of the Coppa Italia. We will spend some time to preview this fixture for you in our bet of the day predictions.

AC Milan are trying to win their first Coppa since 2003. That’s exactly 20 years since the Rossoneri triumphed in the competition. And let’s be honest – that’s a lot of time to wait. Coppa Italia was never among Milan’s priorities – even in the club’s golden eras, but now they are hungry for trophies.

Most likely Milan’s head coach Stefano Pioli will give an opportunity to many of his backup players. It means that players such as Mirante, Krunic, Jovic, Chukwueze, Florenci, Simic and Adli could find themselves in the starting eleven. For them this will be an opportunity to convince Pioli that they deserve to be in the team.

Samuel Chukwueze is among the players who need a solid performance to increase his confidence. The Nigerian winger arrived in Italy from Villarreal, but he’s yet to score his first Serie A goal. Now the Coppa could be his chance to shine.

Cagliari is a team which priority is very different to the Coppa. The Rossoblu are fighting to survive in the Serie A so you can be sure that Claudio Ranieri won’t play his “A” team against Milan.

Many of Cagliari’s reserve players will start at the San Siro. These are players like Paulo Azzi, Zito Luvumbo, Sulemana and Gabriele Zappa. Wieteska, Di Pardo and Petagna could start as well.

These are the bet of the day predictions for the Coppa Italia clash between AC Milan and Cagliari at the San Siro. Even without their star players, Milan are favorites to secure the win here and progress in the competition. It’d be very surprising to see a different outcome.
